Trafton is a North Carolina native, whose family lived on Hatteras Island in the 1950s. He grew up in Raleigh, NC but always vacationed on Hatteras Island.

Trafton has been in the housing/real estate business since 1995. He has a Business Management Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is a NC State Certified Residential Appraiser and a NC Real Estate Broker. After graduating college, Trafton gained knowledge of homes and construction from the ground up as a trim carpenter, then superintendent of new construction. After appraising hundreds of homes a year since 1997, he is confident in valuation of residential homes and land, and brings valuable knowledge and experience to sales since 2009.

Trafton has a passion for offshore fishing, hunting, and surfing and considers himself blessed to live on Hatteras Island with his wife and business partner, Carla, and two wonderful children.
