After growing up in Wilmington, NC, with a father in real estate sales and appraisals, I began appraising homes in Raleigh 30 years ago. I began in real estate sales on the Outer Banks in 2006 with one of the Island's biggest property management companies. A few years later, I joined one of the world's largest real estate franchises before opening NC 12 Realty in the fall of 2013 with my husband, Trafton.

While living in Raleigh, we built a vacation home in Avon and spent even more time than before on Hatteras. We hated to leave so Trafton and I moved to Buxton the minute our oldest, Carmen, graduated kindergarten in 2005. She an Trafton II were just 5 and 4 years old and they quickly embraced the beach life. Hatteras Island has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. 

Now that we have one recent college graduate and one finishing his last year at UNC Wilmington, I've discovered that my "mom role" is evolving into being the "office mom" as Broker-in-Charge of a great group of Realtors®. It brings me great joy to assist my own clients while also helping our agents consider new marketing avenues, brainstorm negotiation strategies, navigate complex transactions, and stay on top of the ever-changing trends in real estate.
